RSSL offers solar panels of varying sizes and capacities. A solar panel is an arrangement of solar or photovoltaic cells which are connected through a panel. Power generated from the arrangement depends on the number cells present in a panel. The panels are always arranged outdoors in sunlight and are capable of generating electricity even in absence of bright sunlight.

RSSL solar panel modules are rated by their DC power output, which varies from 100 watts to 320 watts. Efficiency of these modules determines the area that is needed to be exposed to sunlight. For instance a 10 percent efficient panel would require twice the area of a 20 percent efficient variety. These panels could be bought and installed in several panels depending upon output power and applications. The panels are a constituent of a photovoltaic system that also comprises an inverter, charge controller, battery, and solar tracker. These panels are connected in series to produce a definite output voltage and in parallel to produce a desired current output. Individual photovoltaic cells are connected with non-magnetic metal wires, such as copper, silver, or aluminum.

RSSL solar panels composed of arrays of smaller cells fitted with focusing lenses. These lenses help in condensing light into smaller areas giving them greater efficiency.

Types of Photovoltaic Modules

Our photovoltaic modules or panels are made up of individual cells of different materials. Some of these materials used are:

Silicon – Silicon photovoltaic cells are crystalline in formation and could be in the form of mono crystals or poly crystals. This is the most popular material used in designing solar panels.

Thin-film – Advanced solar panels are made from thin-film cells. As compared to other technologies in use, these films are capable of achieving high efficiency power at an affordable cost. These films could either be rigid or flexible.

The rigid variety is created on glass supported by another sheet also made of glass. Silicon used in this type of cells has a conversion figure of 6-12 percent. Flexible variety of thin film is achieved by deposition of a photosensitive layer on a suitable flexible substrate. This substrate could either be a conductor or an insulator.

General characteristics

RSS solar panels are designed to withstand weather conditions such as hail, rain, storm, dust, and of course strong sunlight. Our panels are capable of running ten years when producing up to 90 percent of its output capacity, and twenty five years when operating at 80 percent. With recycling possibilities of most of the components of our photovoltaic system, we assist in environment protection through controlled release of by-products.
